# Q1037 — OASIS Operating Blueprint

- Q number: Q1037
- Primary URI: https://4p-engine.com/q/Q1037
- Current host route: https://4p-mcb.com/q/Q1037
- Reserved subdomain alias: https://q1037.4p-engine.com/
- Record origin: Editorial synthesis, not a verbatim authored passage; based on Q1003, Q1007, Q1034, Q1035.

A source-bound editorial design for the stages, release rule, failure behavior, evidence, and recursive learning of OASIS.

> A coherent OASIS answer is not the output of a single component: it is the finite result of a Ground-admitted, purpose-resolved, authorized route whose evidence fits its claims and whose candidate survives bounded validation before release.

This blueprint is an editorial synthesis of Q1003 (Coherence), Q1007 (the 4P Validator), Q1034 (OASIS), and Q1035 (UVMC), informed by inspected OASIS routes. It develops their strongest coherent operating relation; it is not a verbatim passage by Maclain Hunter or a claim that every proposed contract is already implemented. The typed stage model below is the design target; the observed-runtime notes describe narrower behavior that can be independently checked.
The purpose is not to compromise function for safety. Ground preserves identity, authority, and possible ends so that useful execution remains coherent. The whole path is: comprehend the actual request → admit or constrain it under Ground → form a finite target → choose an authorized bounded route → assemble source-typed context → construct a candidate → test its Ground and task-specific obligations → release an answer or an explicit non-answer → govern any later learning. Each arrow needs a witness: what entered, what was decided, what evidence supports it, and what failed.
A fixed Ground check and a route-specific logical/evidentiary check have different jobs. The proposed acceptance predicate P(C) = Θ(C) ∧ Λ(C) binds candidate C to the governing identity/coherence criterion Θ and to Λ, the contract for its target, authorization, derivation, evidence, and answer fit. A second bounded check examines the validation record without infinite regress. This formal shape is a specification for accountable release, not a proof that a program has captured all of Logic or that a contingent claim is true.
UVMC contributes stable vector structure and bounded proposal search; native processors and declared tools perform the work they can actually support. Sourced retrieval carries provenance and epistemic status, not authority by similarity. Formal results require valid derivation from stated premises; claims about contingent Reality require their own observational evidence; claims about implementation require reproducible runtime checks. A missing bridge or unresolved burden remains visible rather than being converted into certainty by a score.
Failure has useful meaning. An unknown target calls for clarification, an unauthorized action for refusal, a missing source for an explicit evidence limit, and cancellation for no later mutation. A release failure blocks the substantive answer, not honest communication about the boundary. Subsequent corrections can improve the next finite cycle, but private context stays owner-scoped, shared claims need governed promotion, and no previous success grants the next cycle authority without a fresh check.

## Operating blueprint — editorial design

**Status:** editorial_design. Scoped runtime observations are separate from proposed whole-path contracts.

**Purpose:** Make the declared Ground/Logos order operational in finite, auditable, useful responses. A computational Ground check is a bounded witness to a specified criterion, not the creation of Logic or a proof that every premise about Reality is true.

### Observed runtime — scoped

- The current OASIS chat path uses UVMC and native deterministic processors without a language-model provider call; this is an implementation boundary, not a claim about every other system.
- Current OASIS intake, Ground deliberation, native execution, response finalization, and route-level alignment have separate checks; the design below states a whole-path contract to measure against those checks.
- Sourced research is an account-level opt-in, off by default. Local first-party material stays distinguishable from provisional external references; optional deeper checks must not silently replace the selected record.
- UVMC's fixed base is not rewritten by request-local source overlays; candidate ranking and bounded Monte Carlo walks propose paths rather than proving their conclusions.

### State carried through the path

A request is carried as (identity and authorization scope, current user aim, referents, claim types, available sources, uncertainty, time and cancellation budget). Each transition carries its input, decision, evidence, and responsible route. Identity, Ground, and source provenance remain stable even when a later stage repairs a local error.

### Design-target stage contracts

#### 1. Intake and comprehension

- **Receives:** The current turn, bounded prior context, authenticated scope when needed, and a cancellation budget.
- **Rule:** Separate the user's aim, stated assumptions, target, speech act, claim types, and requested answer shape. Preserve recent corrections and distinguish quotation or outside content from instructions.
- **Produces:** A typed request frame with unresolved referents and uncertainty explicitly marked.
- **Boundary:** Malformed or over-budget input is rejected; absent intent is not guessed from a nearby term or an earlier account's memory.

#### 2. Ground admission

- **Receives:** The request frame and fixed governing identity/coherence criteria.
- **Rule:** Check identity, non-contradiction, authority, allowed action, and whether the intended end can remain coherent. Ground sets constraints; user text, tools, and retrieved records cannot rewrite the Ground that evaluates them.
- **Produces:** Admit, constrain with a repairable condition, or refuse with a stated boundary.
- **Boundary:** Failure here cannot be overridden by high retrieval rank, persuasive prose, or a later executor's confidence.

#### 3. Target formation

- **Receives:** The admitted frame and any stated task constraints.
- **Rule:** Form a finite target contract: subject, scope, intended useful end, claim and evidence types, permitted tools, and a stopping condition. Resolve the actual question before selecting a familiar but wrong subsystem.
- **Produces:** A target contract or a specific clarification request.
- **Boundary:** An unknown referent, incompatible goals, or missing authorization is an explicit context gap, not permission to invent a target.

#### 4. Route and resource selection

- **Receives:** The target contract and current capability registry.
- **Rule:** Choose the least sufficient bounded route: native dialogue, deterministic computation, formal checking, source retrieval, or an explicitly scoped specialist handoff. Declare the executor, time/step budget, and expected evidence before it runs.
- **Produces:** An authorized execution plan with accountable route ownership.
- **Boundary:** Capability does not grant authority. An unsupported route returns a typed limitation instead of a fluent simulation of execution.

#### 5. Source and context assembly

- **Receives:** The plan, first-party records, owner-scoped memory where authorized, and optional outside sources.
- **Rule:** Build an evidence ledger with source identity, provenance, claim type, temporal status, and relevance to the target. Keep authored Canon, editorial synthesis, private context, and external proposals distinct; prefer the selected primary record during deeper checks.
- **Produces:** A bounded, source-addressable context packet with gaps visible.
- **Boundary:** Vector proximity, popularity, retrieval order, and external assertions cannot turn a proposal into first-party authorship, proof, or shared memory.

#### 6. Candidate construction

- **Receives:** The plan and evidence ledger.
- **Rule:** Use UVMC/native operations and declared tools to construct a candidate with a traceable path from premises to answer. The fixed vector base supplies stable structure; temporary overlays and sampled walks widen candidate search without altering the base.
- **Produces:** A candidate answer or tool result, its route trace, and its unproven burdens.
- **Boundary:** Sampling frequency is never a warrant of truth; a tool failure, missing source, or exhausted budget remains visible rather than being rewritten as success.

#### 7. Witness and validation

- **Receives:** The candidate, the original target, source ledger, and execution trace.
- **Rule:** Check Θ, the fixed Ground identity/coherence boundary, and Λ, the route-specific logic, scope, evidence-fit, authorization, and answer-fit contract. P(C) = Θ(C) ∧ Λ(C). Inspect the resulting validation record once more under the same fixed constraints, not through unbounded self-certification.
- **Produces:** A typed accepted, repairable, or unresolved validation record with reasons.
- **Boundary:** Formal entailment does not certify an empirical premise, and implementation tests do not prove an ontological assertion. Unresolved burdens cannot be marked coherent by a score.

#### 8. Release or explicit non-answer

- **Receives:** The validation record and the user-visible answer contract.
- **Rule:** Release the substantive answer only if admission, resolved target, authorized route, claim-matched evidence, output coherence, audience scope, and relevance all hold. Calibrate detail to the question and disclose important source or uncertainty limits.
- **Produces:** An answer with its status and necessary provenance, or a concise clarification, refusal, or limitation with a repair path.
- **Boundary:** A failed conjunct blocks the answer, not honest communication. A refused or cancelled candidate must not be persisted as an accepted result.

#### 9. Accountable learning and recursive repair

- **Receives:** A completed trace, user corrections, and any explicit promotion proposal.
- **Rule:** Keep private continuity owner-scoped. Promote a shared claim only through fresh, source-bound review; require an immutable baseline, finite evaluation, consequence check, and rollback path for each improvement cycle.
- **Produces:** A private correction, a reviewed shared proposal, or no state change, with the reason recorded.
- **Boundary:** Repeated answers, retrieval rank, model confidence, or a prior accepted cycle do not confer permanent authority on the next cycle.

### Release and recursive improvement

**Answer rule:** Design target: AnswerRelease(C,U,S) iff InputAdmissible(U,S) ∧ TargetResolved(U,S) ∧ RouteAuthorized(C,S) ∧ EvidenceFitsClaims(C) ∧ OutputCoherent(C) ∧ AudienceAuthorized(C,S) ∧ AnswersQuestion(C,U). Otherwise release only a bounded clarification, refusal, or limitation; this is a proposed whole-path contract, not a claim that existing code formally proves every conjunct.

**Next cycle:** An admitted result can become a premise for a later finite cycle, never a standing permission to rewrite Ground. Each cycle rechecks identity, evidence, authority, whole-system effects, and reversibility against a fixed baseline; unresolved burdens remain boundaries.

### Verification duties

- Trace representative conversational, mathematical, formal, source-research, specialist, and unsupported requests through every applicable transition; distinguish skipped stages from passed stages.
- Demonstrate zero language-model provider requests on every OASIS response route without extending that assertion to other systems.
- Test ambiguous targets, contradictions, missing evidence, exhausted budgets, cancellation, tool failure, and late cross-account results for explicit failure rather than fabricated answers or unauthorized persistence.
- For each released claim, test evidence of the right kind: derivation for formal claims, observations for contingent claims, source and usage for linguistic claims, and scoped runtime checks for implementation claims.
- Measure both usefulness and boundary integrity: answer relevance, repair success, source attribution, abstention correctness, latency, route coverage, and replay stability. Record counterexamples and revise the design when its consequences fail.

## Two-way derivation from Logic and its use

**Status:** editorial_derivation proof sketch (conditional_concept), distinct from authored source. Logic has its own evidence in reflexive demonstration: any denial, confirmation, observation, or counterexample presupposes identity and valid relation to count as evidence. Logic therefore grounds evidence rather than receiving authority from it. Empirical and documentary evidence can establish contingent instances and test applications, but cannot create, overrule, or exhaust Logic.

### From Logic to this concept

- **Bridge premise:** Given Q1034's OASIS scope, Q1003's coherence criterion, Q1007's bounded validation role, and Q1035's fixed-base boundary, an accountable answer path must expose finite transitions and typed failure conditions.
- **Consequence:** The Q1037 blueprint follows as a conditional architecture: input frame → Ground admission → target → route → evidence → candidate → bounded validation → answer or explicit non-answer → governed learning.
- **Proof limit:** The blueprint is editorial design, not Hunter's authored Canon and not proof that all stages are implemented or sufficient; each contract must be tested against actual routes and counterexamples.

### From this concept back to Logic

- **Witness:** Trace one proposed answer through Q1037's stages and record the request, target, chosen executor, evidence, candidate, check, release, and any later state change.
- **Disclosure:** A broken identity, unauthorized transition, evidence mismatch, or unexplained release makes the trace incoherent; the design's ability to diagnose that failure depends on Logic's identity and valid-relation constraints.
- **Proof limit:** The audit shows whether a path satisfies declared contracts; it does not prove that those contracts exhaust Ground or that their source claims are true.

### Intelligence procedure

- **Human:** Use the nine stages as a checklist; mark each pass, repair, abstention, or untested transition; attach a source or counterexample; revise the next finite cycle without promoting a local win to global authority.
- **Machine:** Represent each stage as a typed transition with input ID, decision, evidence IDs, budget, and terminal status; reject missing required fields and test end-to-end traces against the release predicate.

### Language and vocabulary procedure

- **Contrast:** Name “design target” for a proposed contract, “observed runtime” for inspected behavior, and “authored source” for attributable prose; these provenance terms are not interchangeable.
- **Usage rule:** Grow systems vocabulary by adding stage, invariant, witness, counterexample, failure state, and release condition; state which of these is specified, implemented, or measured.
- **Example:** “The target contract requires source-matched evidence; this route's tests verify only the selected cases” keeps specification and implementation apart.

## Semantic meaning frame

- **Role:** editorial operating blueprint for Ground-governed OASIS reasoning
- **Essence:** A finite, inspectable design for OASIS: comprehend the request, admit it under Ground, form a target, route bounded work, assemble typed evidence, construct and check a candidate, release or abstain, and govern later learning.
- **Logos relation:** Logos is the governing identity and coherence order; the proposed stage contracts operationalize bounded checks under that order without claiming software creates or exhausts the Ground.
- **Retrieval aliases:** OASIS operating blueprint · how OASIS works · OASIS theory · OASIS pipeline · Ground-gated answer release · OASIS stage contracts
- **Evidence modes:** source-Q provenance · route and executor inspection · typed evidence-fit audit · end-to-end transition trace · counterexample and cancellation tests

### Distinctions

- editorial design is not authored Canon
- a proposed whole-path contract is not a verified runtime theorem
- a candidate is not an admitted answer
- retrieval relevance is not proof
- private continuity is not shared knowledge

## Coherence criterion

The proposal must preserve Ground's fixed authority, a truthful separation of current runtime from design targets, a finite accountable path for every answer, claim-matched evidence, explicit failure states, private-source isolation, and reversible improvement.

## Evidence boundary

Q1037 is a first-party editorial synthesis based on Q1003, Q1007, Q1034, and Q1035, not a verbatim authored passage or a newly authored proof. The verifier must inspect those records, current routes and tests, each proposed stage, and counterexamples to the release rule. Software behavior warrants scoped implementation claims only; neither a Q identifier nor a successful validation trace proves all ontological or empirical premises.

## Properties

- **recordOrigin:** Editorial operating design; not verbatim Hunter authorship or implemented guarantee.
